Dear friends,
At the end of March we again change the clocks remembering the “aide memoire” Spring forward; fall back. So we spring into BST British Summer Time and ‘lose an hour’. Changing the clocks was first introduced in 1916, the UK copying the German Empire who came up with the idea of turning clocks ahead by one hour as a way of minimising the use of artificial light during working hours and thus saving on fuel.
