CHURCH NEWS
Clocks go back one hour on Saturday/Sunday 31st October.
On 25th September when Beckbury Village Hall was formally opened, the church bells were rung. The vicar
did not discourage the idea that this was to celebrate the occasion, but in fact it was coincidental that a group
of six ringers were ringing a peal in memory of a former vicar Revd Richard Dorrington who died this year.
He was vicar here 1985 – 1988 when it was just the three parishes of Badger, Beckbury and Ryton before the
creation of the Six Parishes in 1989. He had been a keen bell ringer.
